Fast-growing, peppery greens ideal for vibrant salads, sandwiches, and garnishes.
This easy-to-grow leafy green delivers a signature peppery bite that instantly elevates salads and fresh pizzas. Rocket prefers cooler weather and can be harvested repeatedly as a cut-and-come-again crop for a continuous, healthy yield. The delicate leaves are packed with calcium and vitamins, making them both a flavorful and nutritious addition to any meal.
Light
Grows best in bright light with around 6 hours of direct sun in cool weather. Give it light afternoon shade once days turn hot, which slows bolting and keeps the leaves milder.
Water
Keep the soil evenly moist, because rocket has shallow roots and turns bitter and tough if it dries out. Water when the top 2 cm feels dry, usually every 2 to 3 days in warm weather and less often in winter.
Humidity
Average garden or household humidity suits it well. Water at the base rather than over the leaves, and give the plants some space so air can move through the bed.
Temperature
Fast and forgiving through Pakistan's cooler months, growing well from about 8 to 30 C. In 35 C+ heat it will still grow in shade with regular watering, though it matures faster and tastes sharper. Sow from October to February on the plains, or through summer in the northern hills.

Soil
Loose, fertile, well draining soil rich in organic matter, with a pH between 6 and 7. Mix a few centimetres of compost or vermicompost into the bed or a cocopeat based potting mix before sowing, and avoid heavy clay.
Fertilizer
Work compost into the soil before sowing and, if growth looks pale, feed with a nitrogen rich liquid fertiliser every 2 to 3 weeks. This quick crop only needs a short, steady supply of nitrogen for tender leaves.
