Seeds
A highly aromatic, vigorous cilantro known for its excellent flavor and lush foliage.
Washington Green' is a premium variety that produces robust, upright plants with thick, flavorful stems and leaves. It grows rapidly and uniformly, making it a favorite for market growers and home gardeners seeking a dependable cilantro harvest. The vibrant, citrusy leaves are perfect for garnishing tacos, blending into salsas, or stirring into fresh chutneys.
Light
Does best with bright morning sun and light afternoon shade, particularly as the weather warms, because strong heat and sun send it to seed early.
Water
Water regularly so the soil stays lightly moist, every 2 to 3 days in warm weather, but never let it turn soggy. Drought stress brings on bolting, while wet roots lead to rot.
Humidity
Dislikes damp, muggy conditions and is happiest in dry to moderate air. Space the plants, water at the roots and keep airflow good, especially in humid Karachi.
Temperature
Happy across roughly 8 to 30 C and tolerates 35 C+ spells in shade with regular watering, flowering earlier as it heats up. Sow from October to February in small, regular batches. 'Washington Green' grows quickly, so repeat sowings every 2 to 3 weeks to keep leaves coming.

Soil
Light, well drained loam of moderate fertility with a pH of 6.0 to 7.0 suits it. Work compost into garden soil or a cocopeat mix, and sow where it will grow, since transplanting encourages bolting.
Fertilizer
Compost worked in before sowing usually supplies enough. Add a light feed of balanced fertiliser once or twice if growth slows, and skip heavy nitrogen, which gives weak, bolt prone plants.
